Sentimental Christmas-The Spotlight of the week

Although these products are named Sentimental Wishes and Sentimental Christmas, to me they are a sentimental journey. The DSP and images in the stamp set are very reminiscent of the wrapping paper that I remember from the 1970’s. Any holiday was always made special by my mom who loved to decorate, cook and bake. Christmas was no exception.

The images remind me of the tinsel and candy canes hung on the tree, the wreaths and red bows everywhere, the stockings hung by the fireplace waiting for Santa while waiting excitedly for the Christmas Specials to air on TV.

Christmas always began with getting dressed up in black patten leather shoes and tights to go to church to start the celebration of gratitude early in the morning. Visions of a big family sitting around the dinner table sharing stories and laughs (no political talk was ever allowed), yummy homemade fudge, cookies and pies come to mind. Indeed, it was a simpler time. A slower time. I strive to keep these traditions alive in my family- the table full of love and some time to slow things down, even for just a few days to remember why we are so grateful.
