Today we celebrate techniques. Some may be old news to you, but the refresher may be useful and some may be new to you. For today’s techniques, we will be utilizing embossing folders in three different ways.
Our first card uses embossing folder to accentuate pretty Designer Series Papers. Once embossed, we lightly sanded to give it a bit of a distressed look.
Stamps: Framed All Around #167221 $20

Card stock: Secret Sea cut to 11” x 4 ¼”, scored at 5 ½”
Cloud Cover cut to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”-cut two
Basic White cut to 4” x 5 ¼” and scrap
Nature’s Walk DSP cut to 4” x 5 ¼” and 4” x ¾”

The second card of the day uses an embossed card stock layer and ink added with a brayer. In the video, I show what it looks like when you ink both the embossed and debossed sides.

Card stock: Basic Beige cut to 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” and scrap

For the third card, we embossed vellum. In the video, I also used a blending brush to add adhesive to the back of the layer so that it does not show when you adhere it to the bright card stock layer.
