Remake of an oldie

I made this card several years ago using a long retired stamp set Beauty of the Season. Loving this card, I knew when I saw the soon to be released  Toile Christmas, that I just had to recreate it. Now, the original was done on watercolor paper and used a brush to add color, but I opted to use the new Blends and a sponge to add color

Which version do you like better?

Here is a how I went about making this card:

  • Cut Cherry Cobbler CS at 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, scored at 4 1/4”. Fold on score line and set aside.

  • Cut a piece of Whisper White CS at 4” x 5 1/4”. Use a sponge to add Balmy Blue ink, lightly in circles on CS.

  • Use a bone folder to curl the corners. Run the flat edge of the bone folder along the sides, causing them to weaken and become rough. Add this to the card base with snail adhesive.

  • On scrap white, stamp the cardinal in Moments black ink. Color with then light cherry cobbler blend and the dark so saffron blend. Use the die to cut out the bird.

  • Using Cherry cobbler, soft suede and shaded spruce, color the branch, berries and leaves from the Toile Christmas set. Cut out with the die.

  • On a 1” x 3” piece of Whisper White CS, stamp the greeting from Tidings All Around.use the banner punch on one end. Use the Braided Linen Thread and tie a square knot around the right side of the banner.

  • Layer the branch onto the card front using glue dots. Add the cardinal and the banner with demensionals.

Let me see how you recreate this card!
