Silicone Craft Sheet #127853
Sometimes I use things every day without even thinking of how convenient they are! They just become something that I reach for consistently, without even noticing. in fact, I have several of these little pieces of magic. I keep one on the corner of my desk, one at my die cutting machine and one at the table where I do most of my creative crafting.
At $6.50, this special little square has so many uses! It is a non stick, heat resistant mat made of silicone.
– use it when you are using adhesives. It will keep your work surface clean and any adhesive that you get on it wipe away easily!
– add liquid glue to one corner of the craft sheet. Then, use a designated blending brush to add the glue to vellum or intricate due cuts.
– great when using a hot glue gun! Any of the stringy mess, peels right off the mat after it has cooled.
– place under you card layer while using blending brushes to add ink. This way, you can get an even tone right to your edges without getting your wirk surface messy, causing ink to accidentally transfer. Then, simply rinse the mat off under water
– this is great for stamping mirror images. Simply stamp your image on your cardstock. Then stamp the reinked image on the silicone mat. Then you place the cardstock layer over the image on the silicone and rub. The ink will transfer to the cardstock. This is particularly beautiful when done to create a tree line reflection on a pond type of image.
– place under your cardstock when you want to stamp with a photopolymer stamp. Sometimes, the lines of the stamp can blur a bit when stamped on a hard surface. Adding the silicone mat underneath adds just enough cushion to help with a crisp image!
Give one a try- it just may become your favorite, most used tool too!
