In my 10 Minute Tuesday feature today, I created this adorable wedding card. I had intended to create a card for a new baby, but in the way that only I can get excited about an image, I diverted my focus.
For this card, I started with a basic white card base cut to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, scored at 1/4”. I then cut off 1” of what was to become the card front.
Next, I cut a piece of Flight & Airy DSP to 3 1/4” x 5 1/2”. In the video, you will see I started differently, but made a last minute change. That was adhered to the card front flap.
I next chose the Three Color Glimmer Paper and used the Highland Heather color to cut a 5 1/2” x 1” strip and attached inside the card along the outside edge so that it can be seen when the card is closed.
I rough cut the “love birds” from a sheet of the DSP and proceeded to hand trim with paper snips. I popped them up with a circle cut from the Everyday Details dies. These dies are awesome. As I show in the the video, if you cut a specific size piece of Cardstock instead of using scrap to diecut with, then you will end up with two usable shapes for cards, a positive and a negative.
Thanks to Karen’s suggestion online, I decided to stamp the greeting directly on the card front in Highland Heather instead of on a label. Admittedly, if I were do recreate this card, I do think I might use Gorgeous Grape or even Black so the stamp was a little crisper.
I add the Bubble Ribbon from the 3 pack found in the Annual catalog to the back of the circle and popped it up on the card front with dimensionals. I then popped up my love birds on that. To finish the card off, I added the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, which can be used to compliment a wide variety of our inks and card stock.
